Passive thermal management materials use micro-nano structure to regulate physical quantities of light/heat. The material can regulate temperature without the need of external energy, making it a green and efficient thermal management system. Combining the interdisciplinary intersection of materials science, optics, and textile engineering, our group modulates the internal microstructure of the material via a variety of molding processes. The materials are endowed with passive cooling/heating characteristics based on the different response mechanisms of micro-nano structures to light and thermal physical quantities. Furthermore, the upgrading of passive thermal management materials from laboratory to industrial production can be accomplished through the use of fully-automated, mass-producible manufacturing methods. These materials can also be customized into different forms according to the needs of different application scenarios to continuously meet the diversified needs for passive thermal management.
